Thirty years ago, on the shores of Venice, Florida — the Shark Tooth Capital of the World — a collection began. Tooth by tooth, tide by tide, thousands of fossils were pulled from sand that had been holding them for millions of years. No plan. No brand. Just a woman with a bucket, a sifter, and a habit of noticing what the ocean left behind.
That collection became Chomp.

There's something humbling about holding a fossil shark tooth in your palm. It survived. It outlasted the creature that grew it, the ocean floor that buried it, and every storm that could have ground it to dust instead. It didn't get to choose an easy path — it just kept its shape through all of it.
That's the whole idea behind Chomp.
Every piece we make starts with a real fossil from that thirty-year Venice collection — Megalodon, Great White, Tiger, Bull, Lemon, Sand Tiger, and more, each one identified, each one handled like it deserves to be. We don't manufacture the story. We just give it somewhere to hang.

Each tooth is hand-set, wire wrapped one piece at a time — no shortcuts, no rushing a technique that rewards patience. What comes out the other side isn't costume jewelry pretending at meaning. It's a fossil that's already survived everything, now wrapped to be worn by someone who's done the same.
Our palette, Excavated Earth — ink black, weathered brass, bone, rust clay, a touch of verdigris — is pulled straight from the earth the teeth came out of. Nothing about this brand was designed to look delicate. It was designed to look found.

Here's the thing about a fossil: it's not valuable because it's pretty. It's valuable because it's rare, and because it survived being buried for a few million years without losing what made it what it is.
We think that's a pretty good metaphor for the women who wear these.

While every fossil in our collection was excavated from the riverbeds and shorelines near Venice, Florida, each piece of jewelry is handmade right here in Columbia, South Carolina — wire wrapped, finished, and packaged by hand, one at a time. Venice gave us the raw materials and thirty years of history. Columbia is where they become something you can wear.
What's Next for Chomp
This brand refresh — the new palette, the hang tags, the packaging, the whole Unearthed identity — isn't cosmetic. It's us catching up our presentation to match what the jewelry already was: something old, something real, something that's been quietly worth paying attention to for three decades.
New pieces are coming. Some of them will be one-of-a-kind and will never be remade. Most will carry natural variation piece to piece, because no two fossils — and no two women — come out exactly the same.
